Properties that do not sell at Sheriff Sales are struck off to the taxing entities. Once a year, the struck off properties that are past the right of redemption, are put into a ReSale Auction with the approval of the taxing entities.
Properties sold at the ReSale Auction are charged an additional fee for deed recording. This fee is included in the minimum bid. The deed will be recorded and then picked up in the Tax Office.
Property taxes prior to the recording date of the Re-Sale Deed are NOT the responsibility of the bidder. All prior taxes will be extinguished. The 2016 taxes will be pro-rated from the date the deed is filed to the end of the year.
Time and Location
The ReSale Auction will be held on October 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Assembly Room on the 2nd floor of the Grayson County Courthouse Annex.
Payment is expected after the sale is completed in the County Treasurer’s Office. The County Treasurer will accept only the exact amount due in cash, cashier’s check, money orders or credit cards. There is a processing fee for the use of your credit card.
You will have until 4:30 p.m. on the day of the sale to pay all fees in the County Treasurer’s office.
